ARA 290 (Cibinetide) is a synthetic 11-amino acid peptide derived from erythropoietin. It is engineered to activate the body's innate repair system without stimulating red blood cell production. Researchers study it primarily for its potential to reduce chronic neuropathic pain, suppress inflammation, and promote peripheral nerve regeneration.

Key Characteristics & Mechanisms

Innate Repair Receptor (IRR) Activation: Unlike native erythropoietin, ARA 290 avoids hematopoietic (blood-building) side effects by selectively binding only to the IRR. This initiates anti-apoptotic (cell-protecting) and anti-inflammatory pathways.
